Forehead Reconstruction

Do I need forehead reconstruction?
In more than 98% of the cases, the answer is YES.

What is so special about your Type K forehead reconstruction?

A regular Type III forehead reconstruction does the following:

The upper third of the face – namely the eyes, the eyebrows, and the forehead – constitute crucial facial gender markers. Consensus in the world-class surgery field is, that this forehead area is about 85% responsible for a person to be perceived as male or female. These facial gender markers will all be removed.

Besides doing that, our Type K forehead reconstruction is a step ahead of type III reconstruction and creates a truly attractive and natural female forehead. This translates into appealing and wider eye expression.

Dr. Kaushik uses a fine hairline incision to access your forehead. The incision technique is such, that all of your hairline hair is preserved and that hair can actually grow through the incision line later.

Dr. Kaushik then performs all necessary bone work using surgical tools like burrs and Piezo-ultrasound cutters. True to his TrueShape FFS approach, Dr. Kaushik’s Type K forehead reconstruction technique eliminates the bony ridge in the area just above the eyes and beneath the eyebrows – commonly known as “brow bossing”.

A bony plate gets cut out of your frontal sinus. All shaving and bone tissue smoothening and correction get performed on your forehead as well as on the sinus plate. The modified sinus plate will be reattached to the newly created position of your minimized sinus using mini titanium screws and “bone dust”. This bone dust gets collected during your forehead bone work to smoothen any uneven patches on your forehead or your newly created sinus area. Simultaneously, the forehead is set back during this procedure resulting in a steeper forehead angle. Dr. Kaushik’s Type K forehead reconstruction differs vastly from a regular type III reconstruction during this stage because it overcomes the flaws of the type III reconstruction. The way the forehead bone is cleared of any prominences and bulges is unique and the secret of our Type K reconstruction. It results in a very smooth, sizereduced, and female forehead that otherwise cannot be achieved.

Since plastic surgery always aims to keep or improve function, your minimized sinus will be intact and functional after surgery.

Part of the upper orbital rim bones (bones around the eye) will be shaved to further eliminate the deep-set eyes, also opening up the space around the eyes to create a feminine and softer look.

Usually, a feminizing rhinoplasty is performed together with a forehead reconstruction since the nose is connected to – and its top part originates – from the lower forehead area (frontonasal transition).

The nose-forehead angle between males and females is different.
When a feminizing rhinoplasty gets combined with the Type K forehead reconstruction, then the best possible result can be achieved, creating this wonderful, open forehead-to-nose angle.
